Default how do you find out about retreats?

Several quilting friends have gone on retreats and when I asked them how they found out about them, they were not very forthcoming. So, how does one find out about them, when and where they are, how much they are and so forth? I am in Wisconsin.

It's funny about retreats. I usually find out about them after the fact, that's just the nature about word of mouth. I know I have announced retreats at my Guild and Bee, there are always those poo pooers who say, it's too expensive, not worth it. So I quit announcing it. But, I make a mental note for the following year of any new ones, and who puts it on and find out for myself, if I want to go. I prefer to go by myself and meet new friends rather than hang around the same people.

I have heard wonderful things about this place from a quilting friend of mine.

I am also from Wisconsin. South Central to be somewhat exact.

I would check your LQS and any quilting groups you know of. Also, if you hear about a retreat after the fact, you can contact the venue and ask for the person who booked it, contact them and ask to be put on the list for next year.

My guild holds one once a year and it is announced and promoted at guild. Also some small bees associated with the guild will let people know they are going on a retreat if they need more people to book the location.

Sometimes I see something when I am reading blog or otherwise from a quilting teacher that they are teaching at such and such retreat.

I used to think it wasn't worth it because (before becoming a foster mom) I could sew anytime I was off work but the couple I did go to I really accomplished a lot and had fun.
