Default MSQC Hunter's Star

I just noticed that Jenny listed a new tutorial on the Hunter's Star. Looks pretty easy and fast.

I have the accuquilt die for the Hunter's star and have found it to be easy to cut. I was impressed by MSQC that it turns out to be almost the same

Just watch out for the bias edges! I thought her diamond looked a bit skinny.

I've seen that pattern before using four patches and wondered if the dimensions were the same as the traditional block. Seems a little different to me, but I haven't actually measured...

I have the die, too, and can't believe how easy the block is to make. I haven't made a quilt yet because I can't decide what fabrics/colors I want. I have made some beautiful batik table runners though.

Jenny is someone I'd love to have come to my house for a weekend. I love her easy way of teaching and how she makes things seem easy. I've tried things that if I hadn't seen her do I never would have tried because they looked too difficult. When she did the exploding block I was so excited I did an entire lap quilt and had the best time doing it. As for the die, I just bought the reindeer die and looked at the Hunter's star die, decided it was too expensive. The GO was one of the most practical purchases I've made and because of quilt shows I've made some purchases that I should have had my head examined. Ah well, I always have fun at quilt shows.
