I have mesh gloves but I don't use them myself - I bought them because I've been teaching a few people from work how to sew and last thing I need is them getting a bad cut at my house. So I put on a show like I use them all the time, and insist that they use them, but secretly I never wear the darn things when I'm working on my own because they make me feel so clumsy. I'm probably going to regret it some day. It sounds like the gloves you have would be better....I'll have to check them out.
I AM very careful with my cutting blades, as a rule. I don't cut if I'm tired or distracted, I am obsessive about closing the blade after every cut, and I habitually double-check my finger positions on the ruler before I start to cut. So far, so good, but it just takes a moment of inattention...
