Default help please kenmore 15813450

Hi Everyone I bought a Kenmore 158.13450 off line from "Shopgoodwill.com". When the machine arrived because "goodwill" didn't pack the machine, the Free Arm of the machine came loose and was broke into little pieces. I had planed to give this machine to a friend. I looked on line at eBay and different parts sites, but no luck. I super glues the pieces back together the best I could. But there are gaps and sharp edges now on the top of the removable free Arm table. Does anyone here have a free arm part they want to sell so I can fix this machine? Is there some kind of filler I can use to "resurface" the top of the free arm? The machine is in such good shape, But at this point not very usable. Thanks for your help. I uploaded pictures here with this post to show the part I am talking about.

Did you know you can save a search on ebay and be notified when your item comes up for sale? Just type in your search and look for the button to "save your search". That's probably your best bet. I'd recommend you simply save a search using the model number. Your part will probably come up for sale one day.

Another option is an ebay seller called "niftythriftygirl". You can find her shop on ebay by doing an advanced search of her seller name. She sells a lot of Kenmores and may have your part.

I have that model, but have no desire to sell it, but you CAN use the machine without that piece, I do it all the time, maybe you can use it until you can find a replacement piece.

I have bought several machines from Shop Goodwill, but only where I could go pick them up. I surely would not trust a Goodwill packing job.
On one of Patsy Thompson's FMQ DVDs,"Fast & Free" volume 2, her husband shows how to make your own plexiglas extension table. Your public library may have that DVD. Somewhere I have seen a photo of extension tables made from wood, probably saw it on the "Vintage Sewing Machine Forum" on here. In a pinch you could even make a cutout in a cardboard box. Keep all the parts together, you never know what will show up later.
Buying sewing machines from thrift stores means you often don't get the extension table or power cord. I have several of those old fold-up tables that appear to have been made for Vikings. They are not a snug fit, but do work well with other brands and models of sewing machine.
Good luck. Please let us know what you come up with.

The folding tables show up in thrift stores and on Craigslist all the time. I have two of them one for a free arm machine and one for a flat bed/serger.

Some time ago I acquired a bunch of Kenmore parts and I think there might be a table. If I get a chance even I go home for a little while I'll see if I can find it. And I'll see if it what you are looking for.
