Thank you so much Lynnie! That is ric rac for the vine. That's what the pattern called for & it was the first time I've ever used it. Made it very easy. If you have a Fons & Porter subscription then it's a free download pattern. This is a great pattern for scraps.
If you go to this link: http://www.fonsandporter.com/article...40_quilt_block (scroll down to "Bonus") you will see a link to the free pattern for Aunt Grace's Garden which is a smaller version(85x103) than the pattern for Emily's wedding quilt(115x115). I think Aunt Grace's Garden is actually prettier because it has the appliqued border.

Yours is absolutely beautiful and your work outstanding.

Love this quilt. So bright and cheerful. The applique borders helps to make this quilt sing.
