Default Singer 348

I found this machine at a yard sale yesterday. When I asked how much they wanted, the man told me that I could have it for nothing. He just wanted to see it go to someone who likes sewing and old machines. It runs, but it's missing the accessories, which doesn't really matter to me because I am just putting her on display in my sewing room. I love the color!

If it sews at all it uses short shank attachments and flat Singer disks and once you have it serviced it will be a fairly nice machine to use.

As far as I can see it's an all metal machine. I don't know this model at all, but I from the parts and build point of view it's well worth spending a bit of time and effort on getting it up and running. It might sew well and be nice to work on. I don't know what kind of machine you have, but often these old vintage models turn out to be superb at some jobs where other models truggle. A low shank, zigzagger accessory box will turn up if you keep your eyes open, and I suppose most 60s and 70s (low shank) accessory boxes are for swing needle machines.
