    Default Rotary Blades

I just read an article about how to change the rotary cutter blade. What I am curious about is, it said to write old on the blade and place it in the container, so you can return them later.

Where do you return the blades?

I take my blades to my medical clinic where I used to work and they but them in the bin with the used needles to be disposed of.

I have lots of the 5 blade plastic cases I fill up with old blades. To get case started, mark used on the blade and put on bottom of the new blades. The cases hold more then 5 blades. When full I wrap in tape and put in trash.

There is a place that gives a lower price on new rotary blades when you send in your old ones. Perhaps they wrote the article you read?

I use an empty container and write old on it. So far I still have them, they are still usable to cut batting with. I have also trimmed a quilt to get them ready for binding. Someday I will just put the containers in the trash.

I also write used on my old blades and put them in the plastic case. I use them to cut things like paper and drawer liners, and batting. Eventually I throw most of them away in the case. I tape it shut and put it in the trash.

I have one of those blade sharpeners from Nancy's Notions. When they've been sharpened at least once, then I sharpen them once more but they go into the blade case used for paper, etc. cutting only. Have rotary cutters for fabric only and paper, etc only.........................and warn anyone who dares use them other than for what they're marked for.
