    Default Five inch flannel

I have quite a stash of 5 inch flannel squares. Can someone suggest a pattern to use them. I was saving them for a friend who has quit quilting and moved. I really hate to toss them.

    Are they solids, prints, plaids...?

Trip Around the World is simple and looks nice, and can be any mix of prints/plaids/solids.

I would think that most patterns that are designed especially for Charm Packs (5" squares), or Nickels as they are sometimes called, would work well. I'd Google "quilt patterns for charm packs" and see what pops up.

You can always make rag quilts with them, although with the increased seam allowance for ragging your blocks would be pretty small.

They would go well inside the denim circles for a faux cathedral window quilt.

I used left over pieces of flannel, some squares some rectangle and made just a scrappy lap quilt and backed it with another flannel from my stash. When I took it to football games I was always complimented on it. Gave it to my son and he loves it.

You could get a red flannel solid for sashing and use the 5" squares as is, with either a straight set or on-point set.

I made my Mom a quilt last Christmas that was just 5 inch blocks in flannel. She loves it! It's so soft and warm. Nothing fancy about it at all.
The only thing that made it special were some of the prints. I love the way it turned out. Easy too!

Thanks for suggestion. I do have some solid flannel. I really like the look of on-point quilt blocks.

How about the Falling Charms pattern?
