One More Accuquilt Question I Promise!
I got my Accuquilt Go and I love it. I have the basic dies that it came with- a four inch square, a 2 inch square, and half square triangles.
I'm confused as to what general dies I should have. I'm looking at many but don't know what I want.
Are there any that you use a lot and you think I would enjoy having?
Thanks, it's still very confusing to me. I am having fun with it though

I love my Accuquilt.
My favorite dies are the 2' sq, the 5" sq and the 2 1/2" strip cutter.
I have bought the ones I needed for a project.
I have a Flying Geese die that came with, that I have never used.

I buy the die I want at the time I want it. I have over 100 dies and the one I'm using is my favorite at the time.
I think you will like the large tumbler die. I would suggest you get a BOB die. Block on Board. I cut four layers at a time so five passes I have 20 blocks ready to sew together.

If you scrap quilt, you must have the 2 1/2" square die that has a layout pattern of 9, making 9 x 6 = 54 squares in one cut, and the matching triangle die. I love the Ohio Star BOB die, too That should get you started. Once you get started, you will want them all. LOL

I buy dies anytime they are on sale. The more dies I have, the more I like my die cutter. Since you are just getting started with it, pick a quilt you want to make, and get the dies you need for that quilt.
When I started out, I didn't think I wanted what I think of as "piecing" dies. I started with just the hexagon die. But now that I have all of the HSTs and QSTs and triangle in a square and so forth, I love when I can cut out my whole quilt with the dies I already have. I much prefer my individual dies to my BOBs, but that is why they offer both styles, so we can each have what we prefer.

I need to check out those BOB ones. I know I've seen them but can't remember.
Onebyone- I wish you were my next door neighbor haha! Wow, that's a lot of dies!
The good thing is that i don't have to buy them all at once. I already told my husband to get me gift cards when he feels like treating me

quiltinaday has AccuQuilt dies on sale today - half price and free shipping. I don't use a cutting machine, but I think about it occasionally, usually when I'm cutting a gazillion pieces with the rotary cutter.

What would you like to make for your next quilt? I would use that as a starting point for purchasing dies. My favorite dies are triangles (very accurate and all the "dog ears" are already cut off making matching easy) and shapes that are difficult to rotary cut -- tumblers, hexagons, circles, etc.

The qube are good I bought the 12" one, I'm using the 4" clam shell at the moment to make a wall hanging where you make a panda face and scatter pandas throughout the other clam shells, it was a Jo Carter design in Love Patchwork n Quilting magazine. I'm going to use the 8" clamshell and make a quilt for my grandaughter with the pandas and another quilt for myself in Moda Black Tie fabrics
