Default Is there another brand that is comparable to the AccuQuilt?

I considered buying the AccuQuilt which is expensive enough, but the dies are also expensive. Is there another brand that is comparable to the AccuQuilt?

I believe the Sizzix is cheaper than the Accuquilt.
Others will be able to tell you more but I know a bit b/c many people answered my questions when I was trying to decide to get an Accuquilt or not.

I have a sizzix Big Shot Pro. I find the dies are on sale more often than the Accu Quilt dies. I find that there are many more choices when it comes to dies such as quilting, paper crafting, and rug hooking. Also to consider is the sizzix machine can use Accu Quilt dies with an adapter set.

I agree that Accuquilt dies are expensive. I'm buying them selectively and told my husband he now has some new ideas for gifts for me.

I agree with annababy about the Sizzix. For a while it was hard to find dies for it, but they seem to have "discovered" the quilting segment of their customer base. I love that I can also use Accuquilt dies on it.

Thank you so much for your replies. I checked out the dies for the Sizzix and found a wider variety dies that I would use. Now I am waiting for a sale on the Sizzix Big Shot Pro.

You're going to love it. I took forever to get a cutter and now realize how helpful they are!

I love my Sizzix Big Shot Pro- it's great not just for quilting, but also if you do any kind of paper crafts and with the correct dies it can cut through chipboard and crafting metals (like those ones that people buy for embossing) as well. It can also use Accuquilt dies --you need to use some adaptors for it, but these are readily available, or you can do like I did and use several pieces of card stock under the Accuquilt dies to raise them up to the proper level.

If you want to use the strip dies with the Big Shot Pro, you will need the extended table.

The only down side is that it does not fold like the Accuquilt, so you will want to have a dedicated space for it. Mine stays out all the time on a desk in my studio.

I found a sale at Joanne Fabric online. I got the Big Shot Plus. Sizzix sent me a coupon so I got 2 dies. Can't wait till they arrive.
