Default Machine ID

Does anyone recognize this plate? It's on a vibrating shuttle machine with a leaf tension.

it would be much easier to identify with a picture of the entire machine. Sometimes these plates were replaced to match the logo of the reseller.

I'm pretty good at identifying US made machines by the type of leaf tension too - that is often unique to each manufacturer. though it it's foreign, I know almost nothing about them.

Here are two additional pictures of the machine. It's from an upcoming estate sale.

I'm guessing on a National or something related, but I haven't manage to find the exact same model. There are a couple of very similar machines on a the web, similar decals, cover plates, stitch length lever, but not exactly the same crest with shield and sword. Here's a Brunswick. It's a start at least, but needs a bit more tracking and searching. This is the page where I found it, which makes it an Eldredge possibly from the 1920s.

Those all have round needle plates.

It looks to me that it is an "electrified" Demorest. http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.ph...stjournal1.jpg The picture is from http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.php/Demorest and says that machine is badged "Journal."

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.
