Default Looking for magnetic clasp

I am looking for a magnetic clasp to hold a purse flap down, but not a snap. I don't seem to be searching on the right thing. Any help would be much appreciated!

Mitty, I don't know of any other kind other than the snap. Hopefully, someone else does.

I wonder if one could get that magnetic tape that one puts on the back of refrigerator magnets and a thin iron bar - the two pieces would stick together - and sew them into the bag and handle.

I took a purse class once and the kit had magnetic fasteners that sewed on like buttons.

Try searching for "purse supply depot". You can find a company with this name and all kinds of purse items are listed, among them the magnetic snaps. One can order by phone or on line. I did not check to see about minimum order, shipping charges, etc. but it might be a place to start.

These are the type I use. Very easy to set in place, and if you want more strength, you just put two beside each other. Just be sure to keep the attractive sides facing each other!

Those are the ones I use on purses and bags. They're easy to install and work great.

I also use this kind and I put an extra piece of interfacing on the inside of the cloth to make it stronger.
