Default 2018 Summertime Block Swap

This is a Summertime Block Swap with the block sets in sets of Four. (Up to Five sets per swapper) 20 Blocks maximum.

Sign ups begin now, December 8, 2017.
The signups are open till January 31, 2018.
The Deadline to have them to me (in my hands) is March 31, 2018.
I will swap them and mail them back out to you no later then April 15, 2018. (Or sooner if possible.)
If I do not have your blocks in my hands by the deadline, I will swap out without you.
QB General Swap Rules: http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...-a-t20154.html\

**Please Keep in mind that swap blocks may contain allergens. Please make the decision to either join us or not join us based on what is best for you.**

The Swap is for sets of (4) Blocks. The limit is 5 sets per swapper. 20 Blocks maximum.
No Squares of fabric or DP9's will be counted as a block.
I will trade out all the blocks I receive. Don't forget to make a set for yourself.
Block sizes are 6 1/2" Sq. or 9 1/2" Sq. or 12 1/2" Sq. These three sizes play very nicely together.
The sets should be the same image/block. But, different fabrics can be used. 100 % cotton fabric must be used.

Any background Fabric can be used as long as it's appropriate for the theme.
Applique blocks must be sewn down!
Embroidery blocks whether hand sewn or machine sewn are fine also.

Mail your blocks to me (or however you see fit) in a priority flat rate envelope using stamps only on the return envelope. (Metered mail expires.) I must return mail it to you by priority mail in order to have a tracking number. Give your package time to get to me please. Make sure to address your return envelope back to yourself. Don't forget to use the proper postage. (Thank you.) Pm me for my address when your ready to send. You can mail whenever your ready.

Place your finished sets in one Large baggie. Make sure your board name is on each block. If your new to the board or just new to swapping, just ask and you will get lots of great suggestions on how to mark your blocks.

Should anything come up and you need to withdraw from the swap, just let me know. Life happens sometimes.

***New***

I have a request. I am requesting that each swapper enclose One extra block in the swap theme. This is a just in case block. In case the mail messes up and things go awry. If I need them, I will use them. I hate to disappoint anyone. If I don't need them, I will hold a drawing 2 weeks after the swap blocks have been mailed out, and whoever wins, I will send them the extra blocks. I will take care of the postage. I do thank you for helping me out.

Now, let's share early fabric pulls, ideas, and blocks and have a little fun.

Hope to see you on our next Summertime Block Swap II.

Am I missing something? What is the theme or is there a specific color choice or pattern? Just curious

The theme is "summertime" like July 4th, fishing, camping, vacationing, gardening, canning fruits & etc.

I'm in again: 5 sets + 1 block. Will PM my info.

I hope to add to the last "summertime" swap to make a larger quilt. This time will make 12" blocks! Thanks for hosting again!
hugs,
dj

Oops, I guess I wasn't very clear. This is for Swap Blocks associated with anything you associate with Summertime. Here is the link for last years Summertime Block Swap.

JayneW and djmat, I have you both down. Welcome aboard.

I too have a Summertime Quilt from 2012 that I need to add to as well. So, I'm hoping to add to it as well.

Here's a link to that swap for anyone who is interested. Good Ol' Summertime Swap ... Open to signups until March 30th.

Yay! Judith count me in. I love your swaps. count me in for 3 sets at this time. One set will be canning fruits, and one set will be camping. Not sure about 3rd set. I need to shop through my stash and see what I can come up with.

I'm curious why no d9p blocks? They make up beautifully and go so well with other blocks. Since that is my "go to" block for swaps and have never had a complaint, I'm curious why you won't allow them.

BTW, you can get tracking on first class envelopes/ packages now. I do it all the time. Although with swaps first class only works for 16 or less blocks due to the weight limit.

DP9's are okay if 4 quarters are sewn together to equal 1 block. I don't accept 1/4 of a DP9 as a block. I feel it is too incomplete to work with. It feels off balance. I will accept 4 quarters sewn together to equal a block.
