Default King size quilt question

Hello,

I would like to know if a 100"x100" size quilt will fit a king size bed or is it too short?

Thanks.

think it will depend on how far on the sides and end you want it to hang and how thick the mattress is (i.e. 12" vs 18")

The top of a California king is 72x84, while a regular king is 76x80. You need to consider whether the bed has a footboard, how thick the mattress and box springs are, whether you want a pillow tuck... Generally speaking, I think 100x100 would be too small, but it really depends on the bed and your requirements.

I hope this link works.. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/418694096596856640/

It's a chart of quilt sizes with various drop/tuck options. If it doesn't come through just google 'quilt sizes with drop and tuck'

Good Luck!

I think you will be happier if it is atleast 110 x 110. I do a good amount of Cal King quilts and make most 120 x120.

120 is safer.

All I can say is make it big enough. I "thought" the one I made was but it's not. So disappointed as it constantly shifts all over. The other one I made is just right. Sorry but off hand I can't remember what the right one was sizewise.
King quilts are so large that I send them out for quilting. Way too much for me to do.

We have a tall pillow-top mattress. The last one I made was 126" wide to allow for shrinkage...it DID shrink and i was glad i added those extra inches.

I prefer mine to be at least 120x120.

We also have a thick mattress but I did not want the pillow tuck (when not put over the pillows there is too much at the top or half of it ends up on the floor at the foot end) I made ours 105 long and 118 wide. Perfect for our bed.
