Default Virtual Quilting Weekend--4/20-4/22/18

Good morning all! Our internet wasn't working yesterday and then I forgot to start the thread once my husband fixed the problem. So sorry this is a little later getting started. Welcome to our monthly quilting weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're all working on. I'm off to a quilt show in Miamisburg Ohio today with a friend. After we return I'm going to do some organizing/cleaning up in my sewing room. I don't understand how it gets so messy!!!

Next VQW will be Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, 2018.

Hi! I'm hoping to get some work done on my double wedding ring, a bargello for my husband and a baby bargello for my husband's co worker. While I usually spend time each morning sewing, this week I have not so hoping for some time this weekend to advance these projects along.

I’m joining this VQW for the first time. Its supposed to rain here tomorrow so staying in & quilting will be perfect. Sunday may be a different tale-the weather should clear & give us a gorgeous day. My family & I plan to ride our Harleys that day so not much sewing will be done.
Saturday I will work on the 19th Mystery Train’s second set of instructions. If I finish those I’ll go back to my Boxes of Strings. I look forward to my first journey here!

Good morning Raggiemom.

This morning after I finish with the pups, I will be cutting out fabric for swap blocks. Lots of swap blocks. Won't be doing as much sewing as my main machine "died". On a brighter note, I will be able to do some straight stitching on my vintage Singer. Thank goodness for "Ruthie". Am still trying to find the right machine to replace my 10 year old Sears Kenmore. They just don't make things like they used to.

Enjoy the quilt show and your friend.

I am about two thirds through the hand quilting of my green and tan that I had shown a while back. I have named it "In Der Mitter" which is German for in the middle. I have also started a project for Christmas.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's projects.

I'm looking forward to joining this weekend. I'm really looking forward to no snow in the forecast! I think this is the first weekend in over a month that we won't have bad weather. My lilac bush is starting to bud out so I'm taking that as a signal that winter if finally over!

I'm hoping to finish up the quilt for the Thrift Store. I've been working on the school logo (St. Joseph's Indian School) to put in the open spot, then it can go on the LA. I'll do some FM work around the logo and overall pattern for the rest. It's going to be hung on the wall behind the cash register.

I did a block for each of the 1-6th Grade homes, and then let the kids write on them.

I also hope to get some work done on the "Dance of the Dragon Fly" that I just started. I'm trying a new method for machine applique, and am excited about it. I've got the pattern for Dear Jane and if I like doing this method, I'm going to use it for that quilt.

Then I learned about the Nearly Insane quilt and ordered that pattern but it won't be here until mid week.

That's a neat quilt Macybaby- can't wait to see what you do with the quilting!

I'm in, I'm not sure what I'm going to be working on yet. I've got a collaborative piece on the design wall that needs some pieces appliquéd down once I decide where I want them. I've also got an experimental piece in the other studio taking up my large cutting table--it may be to the point where I'm ready to stitch the first layer of colored fabrics to the muslin. I also need to come up with something that I can do for a mother's day, father's day and my mother's birthday. I've got several panels that I have never figured out how to use, but I'm thinking of just going for it-- they have roosters on them- Mom's favorite, so I thought for either mother's day or her birthday I could do a table runner or some placemats.

Hard to figure out what to do for parents when they're well into their 80's and already have a house full of stuff...

Good morning, everyone! I'll be in this weekend too! I'm quilting my "On Ringo Lake" mystery quilt and am about two bobbins away from finishing. (Am I the only one who calculates quilting progress by bobbins used) My goal is to finish it this weekend, but I don't think I'll get to the binding too. This is my first quilt that will have been made entirely on my vintage Singer 15-91, so I think that is kind of neat. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's projects!
