Default Lilies, do they grew in your garden or road side?

Growing up in Iowa, the common lily was in ditches or old homesteads along the roadway. I was recently told it was called "Corn Lily" because in the center was an 'ear' of corn. Always have loved them. Then, there was my Grandmother's Tiger lilies:
and I have added more lilies in my perennial bed: Of course the name got scrabbled up in the planting of several, but maybe can figure that out later. Do you have any to show pictures of a lily or two?

I moved some of the Turbin Lilies from my Dad's garden but they died out. I have these just starting to open.

Yes, we have common Day Lilies, the orange kind like you pictured and called a corn lily growing in ditches and along side the road everywhere here. There are also the pretty ornamental ones that people put in their gardens. Basically looks the same just different colors. They are so pretty and I really enjoy seeing them.

We lived in Iowa, and had Tiger Lillies around the house. Now we have them here in FL.. We can't grow hollyhocks down here for some reason. Miss them.

We have them growing along part of the dirt road where I live and I simply love them. I love walking down the road and seeing them come up and bloom. I've always threatened to sneak down after dark and cut some, because technically I think they are in somebody's yard, but I'm usually in bed by 8:00.

I have yellow daylilies starting to bloom in my front garden. Absolutely the most cheerful sight of the summer!
