I just finished yesterday putting together a panel baby quilt and also have mint green minky for the backing. Will quilt it on my DSM today hoping it will turn out for me. Yours looks great.

Oh how fun! Can't wait to see your finished baby quilt with mint minky! I was surprised how well it quilted for me but like I've already mentioned it was due to all the good advise passed along here on the QB! Looking forward to seeing your pictures

When using minky do I need to buy a certain brand or weight for a quilt? Something from Joann’s ok or should it be quilt store quality?

Cute cute cute!! Super adventurous of you but you did it...and did it beautifully... If you could teach me how to cut back on the fuzziies that Minky produces, I might try this on my domestic. As it is, the only Minky backing I've done is giving it to the LA'r...lol... And it was a mess prepping and squaring the back for her. Little fuzzies everywhere...lol.. Wonderful fabric in your quilt...

Sorry, I just saw your question about batting.. I think you could use any batting that you wished depending upon your desired thickness/loft and feel of the quilt. I've used cotton and I've used cotton/poly - both were great. I personally prefer a lower loft batting with the minky and think any brand you're comfortable with should work - I have used Quilters Dream and Heirloom with great results.

Good luck and be sure to share pictures so we can all see!

I love the whale fabric! And the minky looks soft and cuddly. Well done.
