Default First finished project 2019

I started this one last April and finished it (except for label) on Sunday. I think I need to get rulers for my mid-arm or to have used the walking foot on my DSM to outline the blocks, but I was running out of time to get it finished for a guild challenge on Monday. The challenge was to use raw edge applique (the cats and butterflies were the sample I got when I "enrolled" in it last spring). After finishing the rest of the top last June, I decided that the appliques would add to the quilt. When I finally got around to the quilting in mid to late January, I decided on using freezer paper to repeat the butterflies and cats, as well as to add the dragonflies, in the other blocks.

What a fun quilt! The appliqued and quilted critters add a bit of whimsy, for sure.

That's gorgeous and a beautiful job on the meandering (stippling?)

Love the simplicity of the piecing...the black silhouettes add punch and the reverse outline quilting reinforces the design. Wonderful!

bright and cheerful quilt . . . It will add beauty to any bedroom. Those silhouette appliques and outlines are awesome.
