Default Colour decisions!

I made this small quilt as a practice for my "big" one

I decided to use flower "panels" for the big squares as focus fabric. There are two panels of each flower:

And I have these three fabrics to choose from:

Question # 1 - should I put the blue and purple flowers on the same quilt?

Question # 2 - should the two colours be the cream and the purple? Or the middle one and the purple?

I love them all, and am very tempted to do the all the flowers (or at least up to 12 blocks, so 6 of each colour) and do the purple flowers with the dark purple and cream and then do the blue flowers with the purple and the middle fabric.

Thoughts? Other suggestions?

For once I have a ton of fabric LOL ... so bring on those options before I start cutting up!

Thanks in advance for all the wonderful advice / suggestions I know I'll get.

If I had enough fabric - I would probably go with two quilts - one with only the purples and pinks - and the other with the blues and yellows.

Lovely B/W top! The flower blocks are pretty too. I think the center lighter batik would look good with all blocks but I don’t know what colour you should use for the frames, maybe green?

I was also thinking of cutting the green frames off of the panels ...

good idea But .. there are only 8 blocks ... so I wouldn't have a square unless I embroidered a block?

also, I would then need to buy a different fabric for the blue ... and I'm not allowed to buy any more fabric! hahahahaha my rule

Have you auditioned the fabrics next to your prints? The black and white quilt looks so stunning because the print is also black and white. I suspect that the colors of the quilt should come from the prints. Maybe if the light fabric was a pale yellow or gold to contrast with the purple. There is yellow is the blue flowers. Just an idea.

I would prefer just the purple/pink blocks with those fabrics - the cream for background, purple frames, and make extra blocks from the middle fabric. I agree with adding a little green somewhere, perhaps a couple of the extra blocks or in the borders.

I can't help with color as I am color challenged. I love your 'practice' quilt, though, and can't wait to see the 'real' quilt!

I think the purple would look great with the pinky/blue blocks but the I don’t know if it would look good with the yellow/ blue blocks. Black might look good as the frames with the lighter batiks as the background.

I would use all the blocks and use a sage or dull green for the frames. jMOO
