Default oh my!! first and last time with a new pattern!!

I had never made a small apple core quilt before - - even though I had the MSQC template. A lady asked me to make a memory quilt from her father in laws clothes and she liked the apple cores.

So I figured.. what the heck. I mean how hard can it be? I did the big apple core.

OMG!!! this thing was horrible? Never have I used my seam so much!! If this had not been someone's clothing I would have stopped and started a different pattern all together. But I had his clothes all cut into apple cores.. so I had to finish.

I am happy with how it turned out.. or maybe I am just happy the top is done?? ha ha ha Now on to quilting it

I have the large apple core template, and you would think with the larger, more gradual curve, it would go together without a hitch. Well, mine left more than a little to be desired. Maybe the two fabric choices I made were part of the problem. Some fabrics just don't play well together. Not sure I"ll ever make another applie core quilt! I think you did a good job.

I think it turned out great! I read your original post and commented, so I remember this was your first. You had wanted to know how many it would take. So, how many did it take (224 ? )and what is the finished size, before quilting?..........Also, I'd like to try one, so if any of you that don't want to make another and want to pass on a ruler, I'm here...-lol

That really looks nice. I bought the accuquilt die, but haven’t tried it yet. Guess I’ll have to give it a try after seeing yours.
