The last, and I do mean last, fabric buying for months. And the border decision for the floral LC.

These are all from Patchwork Plus--an 8000 bolt store over an hour away. They were featured in one of the latest shop hops...
The only sale item--I love Red Rooster fabric--this is soft and shimmering.

Some black and white--just half a yard each. Good ones are hard to find.

I liked these better--so got a yard each.

Splashes to go with the above. The red is the only batik I bought; it was on my list. None of the others caught my eye.

I needed some Civil War lights for a planned Broken Dishes with my leftovers from Mark's CW quilt. These should do--one medium, two lights. I got a yard of my favorite one (upper left), and just half of the others.

This was my one--gotta have it--buy. I wanted to look at them longer, so had to bring them home. I bought 2 yards of each--and will try to work them into a Blooming 9-patch, maybe.

I took the floral log cabin with me because taking two squares just didn't seem like enough to call a border a YES! I had it pretty folded up--but three times women walked by and wanted to see it unfolded. There were several ladies working there--and they wanted to make sure they all saw it. I felt like a celebrity.
Okay--the final decision on the floral log cabin is--two borders--the first will be about 3-4" of the light fabric..and the second will be a 2" border of the green with vine... and the binding will also be the green. I cannot find a floral that passes the test--there were several that matched, but they were all a specific color--and each would have made the log cabin a yellow, or pink, or green quilt. A few were possibilities, but there were red flowers in them--and I couldn't add that-too bold. I love the third option I had--but I think now it's just too busy to add that much. So--I simplified my idea. I didn't want to go with no border because it's too abrupt. The little extra will make the garden float.
Here's it is just laid out--

I like it! :D
Overall--my visit there was fun, but a bit disappointing, I'll admit. This is based on prices alone. The Mennonite shop I frequent has the same quality for more than $3.00 less per yard. I appreciate the shops I have available--and will tell them again when I visit next. BUT--that won't be for awhile. I need to sew now...
The fabric is getting washed as I type...
Thanks for looking!!

Great finds! I love the black & whites, especially the piano keys and the heart/scroll ones below it. Can't wait to see the finished log cabin! You will be even more of a celebrity when you post the finished pictures!!! LOL
