I keep a lot of my batting scraps. I've used them for everything from padding for my splint when my ankle was broken to making fender covers for my husband to use when he works on the show cars! I find it to be very useful stuff. I've made pads to put between my china plates for they won't get scratched out of practice pieces of FMQ. There's tons of uses for leftover batting!

I used strips of batting like adding machine tape to make this fireplace screen for DD.

for this idea. I get of batting from the senior center as they have quilters on site every Wednesday & Thursday. I get some that just don't fit anything so I will be sewing it together for my swiffer. I have been using Dollar Tree wash cloths as they fit the swiffer really well. Then just pop it off and toss it in the washer. Helps with saving money.

Coasters, tote bags both in handles and the sides/bottom.

You can also use it for purse and tote bags. Use two layers in the handles.

Default fabric scraps

I marked the bag "quilt batting" so that the workers knew what it was and that it had value. I look at it like I look at clothing that I no longer wear. It's just being wasted laying around the house, and somebody out there needs this.
I went to my local Goodwill and saw lots of fabric in bags and batting but it was in the trash. I asked about it and they said they throw it away. It was still in the input area where you drive thru and drop off your stuff. The young man said that they don't have a way to sell it so they throw anything away that doesn't have a size to it. Very sad.
