Batting for Placemats
I'm making some placemats and tried using polyester batting in the first one. I didn't like the puffiness. I thought polyester because the placemats would be washed a lot. I want a flat look. What recommendations do you have? Thanks, quilters!

I use Pellon product PEL988. They call it "white fleece", but it's very thin and recommended for table runners. It's lovely to work with. I've made many table runners and place mats, and there's no problem with wine glasses !

I prefer a product we used to call Needle Punch...not sure if it is still called that, as I am still using up stash. It makes for a nice flat mat, plus when it is washed it keeps its' shape.... My place mats made with Warm and Natural really need smoothing out when damp to look pretty.
