Default Learned a new skill

I took my buttonhole foot out of the plastic wrapper today and tried it for the very time, thank God for scrap fabric......Once I figured it out it worked very well. I have had some cork fabric that I have been wanting to experiment with, I tried a simple clutch yesterday, and finished it today, I now have a few more planned, going to add inside pockets to my next one and focus more on my stitching on the edge instead of just zigzagging it. Maybe try a serpentine or decorative stitch.

Congrats on your success! They just take a practice or two first. I write down my settings and keep them on a card for next time. Another tip is to add a piece of iron-on stabilizer to the back of the fabric. I usually just cut it about 1/2 inch bigger than the button hole.

Congrats again. Love the bag!

Congratulations on your new skill! This is a very pretty clutch for a first time effort. I hope you are so proud of yourself. Your efforts show a natural talent for making a nice bag. I love your fabric choice too. Thanks for sharing.
