Don't worry about running out of fabric Mkotch and joe'smom. The beauty of these tiny blocks is that any new fabrics can be dispersed thru the quilt during layout. If you look for similar colors and tone on tones, you can possibly insert them and no one will know but you.

I am giggling. Some of you are running out of fabrics and I am drowning in my excess fabric choices. I went out on a limb to do a different layout, and I bought WAY too much, So I started another project using some of my excess and will still have plenty for more quilts. Notice the "S", quilts. What was I thinking? Planing to get some of the HJ blocks finished this long holiday week-end.

Here are my Sept. blocks. As you will see, I made two substitutions - Courthouse Steps and Nine Patch variation - due to worries about running out of fabric. I'm going to try avoiding paper piecing for the next bunch of blocks to stretch out my stock.

Mkotch, until I opened your photo to see a larger picture, I just did not see how lovely your fabrics are. The pink looks like beautifully polished marble. I trust you can squeeze out the final blocks and not have to substitute fabrics.

Mkotch, those are so lovely! The paper-piecing does use up lots of fabric.

I am definitely getting better at the Y-seams; this time only one of the units was significantly shorter than it should have been. While putting together my first version of Mill Girls, I discovered I had almost no seam allowance beyond some of the points, so I started over from scratch; I must have carelessly trimmed the quarter blocks. Fortunately, that isn't part of my original fabric bundle that I'm running short of.

Here are my blocks for this month. Now to get back to the July applique block, which is coming along slowly.
