Default March Colorblock Quilt- Monkeywrench

Hey all,
Here's my version of Debbie Brown's March Colorblock quilt called Monkeywrench. It measures approx. 48" square. Made all from scraps, except the backing which was yardage from stash.

Thanks for looking,
Rob

So pretty and all from scraps! I love the quilting, too - did you use your HQ for this one?

Do you draw the motifs on the quilt first?

I love this scrappy work that makes this look like a single color or green. You placed all your pieces wonderfully. I love how your monkey wrench came out. Well done, Well done.

Hi, the polyparrot,
Yes, I used my Sweet Sixteen. The motifs are done with rulers, so no drawing involved. The ruler I used is the curly cue made by Westalee. I used two different sized and then just echoed around the motifs. The ribbon candy-ish design in the sashing and the echoing around the motifs was all done freehand.

Interesting! I haven't tried any kind of ruler with FMQ - I bought a couple of ruler feet for my industrial machine, but I haven't been able to get a good stitch with it, yet. I'll need to play with that some more and then go hunting for rulers, if I can get it to work.

Thank you!

Very neat! Your ruler designs in the blocks are great! Westalee really has some great rulers!
