Default Help with Machine Identification

Hi!
I picked up this old Janome at a local op shop today. I've been unable to find out which model it is. I've found a serial number and it also says made in Japan. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Shell

Welcome to the QuiltingBoard!

What's the number cast into the underside of the base, beneath where "Janome" is cast into the underside of the base? That may or may not be the model number, but it's a place to start.

And it was nice of them to provide the pronunciation guide on the Janome tag.

I would send my photos to: [email protected]

At least that is where I would start. If I had no luck there, I would look for a facebook Janome group. Then I would look for a Janome group on groups.io

Welcome, Shell. Looks like a nice machine. I thought it was kind of interesting that it tells you how to pronounce Janome, however, the Janome site says it is pronounced - "In Japanese, the word Janome (pronounced Ja-NO-me) means "eye of the snake."

I doubt that the model number is 14 - Does it have a JA in front of the "14" Usually the model number is on the serial number tag or sometimes the first few digits of a serial number.

From my understanding there is a Vintage Sewing Machine - Non-Singer group either on io or facebook.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Smile Vintage Janome - Help with Identification

I bought this Janome at auction as part of a lot. And I can't find out what model it is. It ways "Made in Taiwan" on the back and the serial number is 656062077. Any help would be great!
I have tried Custrel at Janome. They directed my to Janome in Australia who haven't responded.

Thanks
Gussie
