I'm selling one of my 15-91s on craigslist. The potential buyer wants to know if I have any embroidery attachments. I never heard of embroidery attachments for the old black Singers. Is there such a thing?

Not that I am aware of. Straight stitch and reverse only as far as I know. There are standard attachments that will button hole, ruffle and the like but that is all I am aware of. Look through the attachment if you have them and you could let the buyer know if you have the attachment package.

Yes, there were what were called embroidery attachments made for low shank machines. However, they were additional and not included in the basic attachments that came with the machine.

Then there was a foot (like a modern hopping foot) https://singer-featherweight.com/pro...ng-foot-121094 which could probably be used for "thread painting" as seen in https://archive.org/details/singerinstructio00sing although the instructions just use a bare needle, without a presser foot.

Then there was a "guide" called YANDELL monogram embroidery guide that I would consider a couching guide There was another one like it called a Colbert. I found a post that had a little better picture of how it worked.

I think there was another one that was more like a darning spring, but don't remember the name of it.

Lol- if you had some of the embroidery attachments that fit the 15, they are worth over 10x what the machine is.

I hit the jackpot the day I picked up a well worn 15 in a cabinet - and in the drawers were both a two thread and single thread embroidery attachments, along with several other harder to find attachments. All for $37.50. At the time I had no idea what they were selling for, but knew anything "embroidery" was usually big bucks.

Got home and looked the two thread up and was surprised to find what I read as $128.00 - only to relook and realize it was $1280.00.

Thanks to all of you. I just wanted to find a home for the 15-91 and would have given it away to someone who would use it. Now I know they aren't interested in the machine. They just wanted the shot at some cheap attachments to sell as featherweight attachments.

BUT, I'll go through all my old black Singer parts and see if I have any.

I thought I remembered hearing about embroidery attachments for the old Singers. Thanks for the info Janey. I'm sure those are really valuable. You don't see them often.
