Working on a placemat. Nothing big. No real time with home renovation projects dh and I are involved in. I "treat" myself to 1/2 hour of sewing early in the morning before getting started on the house.

Thanks Heather for hosting!

I have three Bonnie Hunter mystery quilts all pieced, backing made, batting cut, binding made, waiting to go on the long arm. Debating if I should start loading them one by one as rain is predicted for both Saturday and Sunday. We have rapid snow melt here and some areas are flooding a bit. I am on top of the hill so no really big worries but the long arm lives in the basement which in the past has gotten some water in it. Just an inch or so and none since I relocated the gutters and downspouts and did a bit of landscaping but would not like having to leave a loaded quilt on the frame for a bit. So I may be looking at piecing a flannel top I started prior to this last mystery quilt.

Thimblebug6000; I have been onthe fierce on starting this project too. I know I have enough scraps/fabric from my stash. I may start it after I bind my lock-in 2020 this weekend.

Binding is done on Soar, got it washed and in the dryer, will post pictures later. This morning I will load the backing and get started on the second quilt.

Raggiemom - I've got all my rows (or maybe they are the columns???) done, just need to SID the columns (or maybe rows??) and stitch the X's in the center of the blocks. The layout is 6 x 7 blocks. I will probably get all the SID done this weekend, but not the rest.

I had cut my black white and grey scraps into 5" blocks and I'm steadily making scrappies.for longarm practice and donate to PL.2 done and I think I have enough for 1 or 2 more. Let's see what's floating around for backs....

I bought the Bernette 77.It is computerized. I have used an 830 Record Bernina since forever, and I wanted more than the 20 automated stitches that I had. I rationalized to hubby that I need a new machine every 40 years or so. Today I will be trained!
Yesterday's class was amazing. Everyone's "face" was sooo different. We had a blast swapping pieces of scrap with each other for a nose, or an earring! The instructor created backstories for her examples, but I have not created my story yet. I came home and continued embellishing her. I'm already planning my next one! It is so addicting--Move over Color Wash Quilt!

Very cool! During lock down Alex Anderson at thequiltshow.com did a series that I followed on faces. It is free to watch, you don’t have to be a member. Click on the Learn tab, Search by Classrooms for Alex, scroll down to faces, there is 6+ an introduction.

I have the borders on the top I pieced from devotedquilter blog, I chose to add a 5th row and borders. My room is smallish so can’t get a straight on photo without part of the ironing board, oh well 🤪
guild does a zoom from 10-12 so will do a quick 1/2 hour walk and then hand quilt with them. Look forward to seeing others projects later.
