Default Chilhowie Mystery Quilt

This is the first Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt I have made. I have her patterns from the past several mystery quilts and finally decided to make one. Bonnie's quilts are so wonderfully scrappie and while I did use different white on white fabrics it's hard to tell. At any rate I started this in March. It took me a few weeks to make the top and then it sat. I wasn't sure how I was going to quilt it. Like most of my quilting I start with one idea and then just go from there. I finally finished it last month. I guess it took me so long because I was on the fence about the quilt. It is a beautiful pattern, but not really "me". Anyway, since I like a lot of quilting and this was a big quilt it took a while. And I quilt on a DSM. I was so happy to put this one behind me. HaHa!

It's a wonderful quilt. And putting it aside to settle your mind on your finish is smart. When you finally figure it out, it makes the quilt a treasure and ultimately yours. Well done!

It's funny. I have made about 6 of her Mysteries and love that it happens over the Holidays. They aren't my favorite patterns very busy. But so fun to make. My best ones of the lot are the ones that I used my favorite colors and not the specified ones.

You did a great job quilting this quilt!! I find Bonnie Hunter's designs so busy that it is difficult to figure out how to quilt them. The last one I did, I set aside for a while, too, and finally took it to a long armer for a swirly design. Your lines are a great alternative that I'll have to keep in mind IF I ever do another BH quilt!
