Those checkerboard chains are looking tempting - and awesome!
SBG- love your runner - Amazing how all your candy looks like mine!
Heather - a pattern is a starting point. The rest is the creativity we add to it! Love all those squares and how your white makes it all pop!

my candies went in the mail today.

I'm cutting fabric for a jewel box type quilt. It does take a lot of 2.5" squares, but I'm doing it batiks so didn't pull them from my collection. I've decided to cut up a few "kits" so that when we move (hopefully) I'll have something to work on even if it takes a while before I can get a real sewing area set up. It's going to be hard to put this in a tote and set it aside, I already want to get to sewing those squares together.

Just back from watching Godzilla Minus One Minus Color. If anyone likes those old movies, you might be interested in the remake. You can see it in color or black and white. I opted for the latter. I really enjoyed it, subtitles and all.

Good gray Friday everyone. At least we are in the mid 30’sF. Yea!!! Next week they are teasing us with mid 50’s. Yea.

I really enjoy seeing all of the wip. such great inspiration.

I was hoping to announce I finished the dreaded r/w/blk king size quilt, but again ran into issues and probably not finish until next week. Oh, well. In the mean time I’m working on my Pat Sloan’s QAL “Traffic Jam,” from a few years back. When I started it I had not wanted to make a throw or smaller. So when my Neice told me her daughter could use some twin quilts, I dragged the ufo out and today I picked out numerous 2.5” pieces from BD swap years back. I also realized I need to start seriously working on my wishlist of 2.5” tops. I found 4 plastic containers full of somewhat sorted. (I now sort by color and then categories within the colors). So I figure the top will be completed by the end of the month. Yea. And quilt early next month.

My next future project using 2.5 “ squares. I just finish collecting the celebrate scrappy mystery presented by Rhonda monthly block directions. It’s very scrappy using 2.5”squares and scrappy yardage and pieces. I hope to start that mid month. I know it won’t make a dent in my scraps or candy squares.

my goal will be to mail out the BD girls candy pacs on the 1st. I will keep you updated. Have a great weekend everyone.

Love the jewel box with batiks Macy B. It has been on my "to do list" for years. Lead on, McDuff! I sure understand "It's going to be hard to put this in a tote and set it aside, I already want to get to sewing those squares together." I had to put away the Checkerboard quilt and it was calling me in the middle of the night. "Sew me into 9-patches, sew me into 9-patches." Tee-Hee Hee!

So many good starts. I see so many quilts in our futures. Keep cutting and stitching.

This set of quilts that use 2.5 squares popped up in my mailbox this morning. Not free patterns but....
