Default Opps, time to rip

I finished 3 16 inch blocks. All done with 21/2 inch squares and had them up on my design board. I looked at them for a couple of days and finally figured out what was bothering me, 6 of the squares had mistakes. I was glad I found them before doing any more but they were a pain to take apart, fix and put back together. I didn’t mind the picking apart but putting them back together was a pain. Thank goodness for design boards!

I find it interesting how our mind knows something isn't right but it isn't readily apparent until later. In my case, that's after I've already quilted it...lol

I'd so much rather do what you did -- take it apart and make it right rather than live with it. Good for you!

Whew! Better that you found those nasty oopsies now, than after you have everything put together.

But it does kind of mess with ones brain for getting back into action.

Good Luck!!

I absolutely hate when that happens...and then whatever I was doing goes on the 'I'll get back to that' pile. Some day I'll actually get back to them.

I find that if I put my blocks up on my design wall and then take a photo of them, I'll find the mistake much easier than if I glare at them for hours on end. Ask me how I know.

I also find taking a pic helpful. I even use pics to make sure I get everything back where it was after I take pieces down to chain piece them.

I just ripped out a block that had the flying geese all going the wrong way! Good thing it was only one but still make mistakes like this a lot.
