Is anyone planning on doing any BOM this year? I didn’t do any last year, missed the excitement of the 1st every month. I see https://pumpkinpatchbc.com/blog/ Has a new one again this year, I have made a few of hers and always enjoy her patterns. I have the penguin one hanging looking down at me right now 😃

this year I've been doing Gayle Bomers Call Me Crazy block of the week. I've really enjoyed it and since I have the patterns, I'm thinking aobut doing it again next year in a different color way, maybe Kaffe. I'm doing it in 1800's on this one. 6" blocks all paper pieced. I think this was up to April then I broke my arm, so am just now catching up.
I'm also 'thinkiing' about making every block in the accuquilt Qube collection, I think there are 214
but it would sure make me skilled at getting my $$ worth from the system.

After working on Shelly Cavanna's Barn Star Sampler, I signed up for Yuletide Sampler. When it started, I was south for the winter, and didn't have it sent to our other address as I already had things to do there. When I got home, I had 4 months waiting for me, but never started it! Fabrics are all starched and pressed. That's my only actual BOM, but I will be doing it on my own as the program has ended.
I'm also planning to do Corey Yoder's mystery BOM. It's a free pattern. Info @ https://corianderquilts.com/cali-co-2025-mystery-bom/

I usually participate in BOMs created by Abigail at https://abyquilts.wordpress.com/optimism-2025-bom/ She usually offers a couple of size options. We did the Barn Star Sampler last year, but I have to say that, while I finished mine, I really didn't like the book's author's directions. There were just too many cutoffs when regular rotary cutting would have worked just as well. This time Aby is going back to creating her own block patterns, and I have found them to be really well written in the past.

I had so much fun, yes, fun, making this scrappy quilt. After I got the hang of the pattern from YT, I switched it up to include 1 focus print and 3 coordinating solids for each block. I had colorful fabrics everywhere!
Another one is definitely in my future! Rose Twirls Quilt

I'm not sure I'll finish this in 2025, but as soon as the mail begins moving again this will arrive as a kit. I'm adding on to it so it will be king size.
