Default Dentures

So my husband got upper dentures from Aspen about 8 yrs ago. Now he wants and needs the lower. For those of you who have them would you suggest getting them at Aspen so they will be the same or go else where and maybe get a new set at the same time?

I don't have dentures but my husband is approaching the finish of a year in process of getting upper and lower dentures. His will be implants that use implanted posts to secure them so he won't need to use any dental glue and they will be removable. Implants do cost a lot more than regular dentures so that maybe a consideration we started with implant on the bottom and regular on top at $30,000+ but keeping the uppers from slipping was a challenge so we decided on implants on the top and that was another $40,000+, biggest part is the difference in materials used in implanted dentures over regular dentures. I would suggest that you go back to Aspen unless he didn't like his experience with them as I've been told that is anything needs to be corrected on uppers a differnent dentist might not want to do it. Also not sure what level of dentures your husband has but dentures are made of different materials and have different life expectancies.

I have implant dentures that are not removable. The most important thing is the lab that fits and makes the dentures. Just like any company these days, there are good ones and just make it and go ones. I would recommend seeing a maxilofacial dentist that mostly does reconstructive dental for implant dentures, you can be assured the best lab will be used and the fit will feel natural.

If his uppers are 8 yrs old, I'd get both sone at the same time. The uppers are woren down in that time and may not match well.

Yes I am now aware. When he got his uppers we were in Ga. 8 yrs ago and went to Aspen. So I believe we will be going somewhere else. He had a 7 yr warranty on them but that is now up.

I think the price of implant dentures have become more affordable from when I got mine. Not long after I got them my husband was talking to a friend who asked him if he decided not to buy the new truck he was talking about. My husband looked at me and said smile. LOL

Other factors (besides the pain, cost and insurance coverage) for dental implants may be the condition of osteoporosis.
Blood tests and x-rays are helpful. Good Luck!

Oh yes I had to be checked for bone density before getting implants and sinus cavity scan. Lots of pre checks to know if implants will adhere and last like they are intended.
