I'm guessing you have probably seen Anyone Ever hear of a Phoenix Sewing Machine? A page with a lot of information about Phoenix 283 at https://eyemaozi.org/en/phoenix/ and manual for 282 with additional pdf for 283 that seems to indicate the basics are found in the 282 instructions
