Jewelled Hearts
Some years ago @Macybaby shared her rendering of this design. I received her permission to use it, but did leave out a thin “sashing” strip. I called mine Jewelled Hearts as I love the way the batiks kind of glow with the mottled grey/black background.
I machine quilted in the ditch and about 3/8” away in black around the blocks and then hand quilted a grid in lime green thread on the hearts. I used a variegated blue/purple pearl cotton to big stitch a stencil design in the setting triangles.
My photo shows it on a queen sized bed, so it will be a perfect cuddle size.

I have that pattern saved from one of the 2.5 Birthday Swap years. Could be from Macybaby or not, just not sure. Your version is glorious with the gem tones on the dark backgroun! Thank you for sharing it with us. Don't batiks just shine.

Love your quilt! My DD just asked for a heart quilt. Or should I say, another heart quilt. Yours is inspiring!
Way back, before I knew what I was doing, I made an applique quilt in 4 large sections filled with hearts.
