OK, so I'm just fine with being Grandma for the last almost 20 years. I'm only 58, but my stepdaughter had her first child at 17, so I was an early age grandma.

So.....that grandaughter sent me a text message tonite...Expecting a baby in October 2010. They have been married for almost a year.

I didn't expect to become Great-Grandma at 59, but what the heck!! That makes my mom a Great-Great-Grandma at 85, and us a 5 generations family. That part is pretty cool!!

Congratulations! At least you are young enough to still play with the baby & really enjoy it. The 5 generations is fantastic! Now get busy planning those baby quilts. LOL

Congrats! I'm sure you'll be a GREAT, great Granma; (oh, that came out wrong, I don't mean there'll be yet another generation, but that you'll be great, as in fabulous!) LOL

I have you beat I will be a great-grandmother in October also, but I am only 46. I married a man 16 years my senior who I love dearly along with his (our) daughters and grandchildren. The kids and grandkids have truly enriched my life and I would not have changed a thing. I can't wait for May to find out what the new baby will be so I can get sewing!

Congratulations! Your life can only become richer! It can really be a blessing to be a young grand and great-grand, think of all the years you will have to share with your loved ones. I am so happy for you.

I think grandchildren and great-grandchildren are your reward for raising children.

When my daughter was in preschool, one of her classmates was dropped off each day by a nice looking Grandma. About halfway into the school year, I discovered it was actually a Great-Grandma!! Maybe you will get to be that kind of great!!

Well I made my mother a grandma at 34?? 35?? She had me when she was 17 and I had my first at 17. we have a picture(older now) of 5 generations my DD up to my Great grandma. I know that I shouldn't have been pregnant so young but I like the fact that my mother, DH, and I are still young enough to be very active with them.

CONGRATS!!
