do you ladies that hand sew still use bees wax or have they come up with something better to strengthen thread?

I very rarely use it anymore, but if I have a thread that continually knots I'll use it.

I have some, but I rarely think of it. It does come in handy when the thread wants to knot up.

I use the cotton thread that is already coated. I like coats and clarks best. I usually use a cream or ecru. If I decide I am going to quilt with a color I use Gutermann, they have some beautiful colors, but sometimes it seems to fray a bit after your about 1/2 through the cut length.

I use handquilting thread for sewing - it already has a glazed finish and works fine.

I use it all the time. It helps to keep the thread from twisting, and knotting. Also seems to strengthen it. I use Coats and Clarks 100% cotton.

I use it when hand quilting. I never have a problem with my thread knotting and I usually cut a fairly long length (36" or so)DH keeps bees so I always have ample supply.
