Hi All!

I hope you don't mind me asking for math help! I found this gorgeous block pattern at Quilter's Cache and I want to make it for a wedding present (that's due this coming saturday).

Here's the link: http://www.quilterscache.com/I/Inter...aresBlock.html

I've made a few of the 6" blocks, and I want to make some 12" blocks in the same pattern, but everytime I try to figure out the math, I mess it up royally (like not even close) and I don't want to waste any more fabric.

Can anyone help? Even if you just fix the "supplies list" on page two I should be okay from there. =)

Pretty Please with a cherry on top?

(thank you in advance -- you *all* rock on this board)

Use 2 1/2" strips, a 4 1/2" square in the middle, cut the strips to 6 1/2" and the green ones should be 4 1/2x2 1/2

Wow, you were fast. I had it figured out but by the time I started to type it in you already had it. Just a heads up I can up with the same figures.

Thanks! I wrote it down on the side of the print out -- I figured it would take a while and I could finish up the 6" blocks while I waited!

You girls are fast! (and great at math -- I'm totally not!)

Thanks Again!

It seems to me that you just need to double everything. Here's a picture on a 1" grid. Don't forget to add 1/2 inch to everything for your two seam allowances. So, blocks 1 & 2 will be 6-1/2 x 2-1/2, block 3 will be 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 and the center will be 4-1/2 x 4-1/2.

lol -- so, the plan was to make the quilt with half 12" blocks and half 6" blocks combined to make 12" blocks. So, it's just a throw - with a total of 12 blocks. Great. So I need double the number of 6" blocks to make the big block sets. So I cut out 12 sets of stuff for the 6" blocks.

WRONG -- FOUR 6" blocks make a 12" block. duh.

why is math not my friend...
