I have to give some ladies in the chat room credit for giving me the idea of doing a coin quilt. I didnt know what to do with my 2-1/2 x 6-1/2 piecs of fabric. Thanks to those ladies, I think I did pretty good with it :) THis is my first one. I have scraps to use up and I STILL have scraps to use even after a king sister's choice blanket and this one hahaha. (btw, I will post the picture of the king quilt as soon as I get it back from the LQS)
My, soon to be ,4 year old son said we needed a blanket for the car for when he is cold. So I made this and put the funky back to it. He told me last night that when I get done with the quilt that he wanted it on his bed hahaha. Too Cute! I almost want to just keep it in the house.
The back is fleece and pretty light weight, but is warm and snuggly. I did quilt straight down the black strip, instead of tieing it. Seems to have quilted just fine :D
I am really happy the way it turned out.

I'm with your son. I think it would look good on my bed.

Thanks ladies. It was so easy to do. I will probably do another one. I am thinking maybe it would be a good quilt for a signature quilt, for my neice. I told her I was going to make her a quilt for her senior year of school so her friends could sign it. Do you think the coin quilt would work okay for that?

I think it would make a great signature quilt! I'm currently making a quilt for my daughter and I think I need to go get some of the fleece for backing :)
