I can't WAIT to see the responses to this .... this thread more or less goes along with "Do you have a favorite fabric that you just can't cut?"

I "think" my oldest (uncut) fabric is a piece of flannel that I bought to make those two-piece snap pajamas for my baby daughter. I bought two pieces, two different prints and colors. I made one set ... with the snaps on the insides of the legs and around the waistline. They had "feeties" and were very warm. She truly got a lot of use out of those. I never got around to making the other jammies for her, but could never part with that other piece of flannel. No need for fire resistant, etc. back then.

How old is my daughter now? She turned 40 in June! So I would estimate that flannel to be just about 40 years old!

This is mine (scroll down) http://quiltersmuse.com/blog/2010/09...ders-surprise/

Dated to around 1930. So...80 years old. What do I win? :>

I have no idea because I buy a lot at the thrift shops. I know I have a tub of scraps that look they are from the 30's.

I can't even guess - I have some flannel that my grandmother bought to make herself nightgowns. She was close to 6 feet tall and could never get "granny-gowns" long enough. My guess would have to be.........50 years old?

I have fabric from my Mother's stash. She didn't quilt, but there are some nice cottons on there. One piece looks like an original 30's print. That would make it over 70 years old.

Out of fabric I bought myself, my oldest is probably 8 years old, but I have very little left from then. For fabric that was passed on to me, probably 20-30 years old.

My oldest fabric dates back to when I was sewing for my kids. 30 years or so.

I thought I was doing good with fabric from the 70's, but you gals have me beat! I would hate to cut up any of the older stuff...... I can hear the little threads crying already
