Sounds as if the directions left a lot to be desired - are you going to point out the problems to the designer?

Well at least you were able to make it work for you. The purse is very cute and unique. I'm looking at a pattern I just bought and it might be the same one. The clerk at the LQS said that there were mistakes in the pattern and she did print out and change a page or two before I paid for it. Thanks for the "heads up".

It's a McCall's Pattern I doubt they will do anything about it since the patterns are already printed probably by the thousands

Hi Kristen,
What an interesting but maddening experience, but looks like you haveed made the best of it. I love your unusual touch of the bow, it fits!
I have been all over trying to find the "Bow-Tuck" purse pattern, but evidently it is pretty hot right now and the stores can't keep it on hand. Am so anxious to make some for my nine grandaughters ( ages 15 to 30 ) for Christmas, so must get started as soon as I can get that pattern.

That bag is soooo cute! I like to purchase patterns from LQS who have samples on display (so the pitfalls are known). Inexperienced quilters might not know what to do which will result in UFOs!
