I just got back from an estate sale and am so excited! There was a sewing room full!!! I only got one bin of fabric for $6.00, all browns and other women ahead of me got the rest and there were 2 closets full. Wish i could have got there a little earlier. However her quilting books had no price and apparently no one had asked. I grabbed up 12 books and took them to the checkout. Cost $2.00/ book!!!! I got Volume 1,2, and 3 of Better Homes and Gardens Quilt -Lovers Favorites,Quilting with Fons and Porter, 365 Fun to stitch Quilt Blocks, Debbie Mumm's Quick Country Quilts for Every Room, The Thimbleberries Guid For Weekend Quilters, Quilting Pieces of the Past, and 3 books from Rodale's Successful Quilting Library. $ 2.00/each! I'm a happy camper!

I also got a recipe box filled with favorite recipes she had hand written for only a dollar. That made me sad that no one in her family wanted to keep her recipes labeled "Aunt Betsie's Chocolate Pecan Pie", Susan's Delicious meatloaf", etc. Surely someone in that family will wish they had some of these recipes to carry on traditions, don't you think?

maybe she already made the family their own copies.. I know my hubbys mom did that. I prepared a cook book complete with individualized for each decor of their childhood favs and then some other recipes that I found particularly fast ,easy and good... they loved it... hopefully they will cherish the hand written recipes
