Here is my interpretation of Ricky Tims Convergence quilts. I started this quilt two summers ago. It's good to have it finished. It measures 36" square. If you've not tried the convergence quilts they are a lot of fun to make. I've made three and each one is totally different from the others. It's interesting to see what you get after the slicing and dicing and the stitching. This is 'Lemonade'.

OH!!! It looks FUN! That's great! I'm a bit at a loss for words right now, but I love the contrast. I like things with a big contrast in colors, esp. quilts!
How are the zig zags made? Is it cut and assembled or rick rack or?????????

Miranda,
The zig-zags are a wide black rick-rack.

ZXY, I just bought his book after I'd seen one of these quilts. It 'called' my name! I understand Mr. Tims puts on quite a show!

It's GORGEOUS Yvonne! Did you take a class with Ricky Tims? I was lucky enuf to attend one of his lectures & he was so much fun! I also bought one of his music CDs too. An all-around creative guy, that's for sure.

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! I'm new to quilting, and I don't know the name Ricky Tims, BUT...Music was my first love...(Um...well, I may be stretching that one just a bit. I honestly can't tell you if it was music or Volkswagens). What kind of music is this?

ah...that's good...I was hoping you would say that! It was all so uniform and neat!!!! That's that much less I have to learn! ;)
Actually I just bought my first rick rack to sew onto my daughter's spring dress I'm making! :)
Maybe it isn't easy to work with?! Never tried it, yet.....
Just a single stitch straight through the center, aye?

Ricky, besides being an amazing quilter, is also a composer & he played the piano during the lecture I attended. If you go to his website www.rickytims.com , and click on the "music pages", you can hear some clips.

Yvonne, I had noticed your pic yesterday in your avator space and wanted to comment on it. It is just beautiful. Of course, I love using yellow in my quilts. It just makes everything pop.
I'm going to check this pattern out. I think its wonderful!!

Can you buy just the pattern or do you have to buy the book? Is he the only one who makes these? They are very interesting. I have seen some done in green with graduations to blue. They were sleepy looking where the yellow is sunshine.
you did a nice job

I checked 14.28 fo the book or 12 for pattern
