Yes, a tornado! It hit the small town of Aumsville about 5 1/2 miles from us. From the look of the path the news showed, it only missed us by about 3 miles. No one hurt, thank God. Most of the damage was in the center of town. Scary stuff!

My son-in-law & grandson were in Aumsville schools for this tornado. We are grateful the schools were unharmed & my family is all safe.

We live about 20 miles from where this happened. We only suffered a lot of downed pine boughs and loss of power for 4 hours. Really SCARY! Some of the TV pix revealed one home demolished, but the place next door just fine. ???

I remember a good many years ago now, when a tornado went right through the horse farm where my SIL was leasing just north of Newberg, OR.! Blew the top off the huge hay barn, drove 2x4's through the metal horse trailer, trees down, etc. He said the sound was the worst and he watched it come right for them.

OOOOweee!

And yeah, Laurie, that's how it is! Sometimes a very narrow path where one side of a street gets mowed down and the other side is just fine.

That surprised me when I heard about it...and they tell me when I say I want to move to Arkansas/Oklahoma "Don't you know they have tornados there?"

Hmmmpppphhhh!! Now I can answer, "Yeah...so does Oregon!"

I'm glad no one was seriously hurt!
