I agree with you, I have trouble trying to figure them out myself. I am not a real advanced quilter and I hate to admit I do not know what an avatar is, I know a movie but what else?I also want to remark on my own writing skills ( I use that word lightly) I was taught how and when to use capitol letters and exclamation points and now they all mean something else. So if I do use them in the wrong spot try not to take offense. I am learning to unlearn the old and understand the new.

It's not an acronym or abbreviation but I confess I keep looking at photos and I have no idea what a "bow tuck " is.

Anyway, I'm a firm believer that some of these are indeed helpful and worth using but there comes a point where I refuse to spend extra time deciphering a coded message.

There's an old axiom: if you want people to take time to read what you have to say, take the time to write it well.

I started a Word document (or any program you have) and everytime I learn a new one, I add it. You can also go to the links, copy and then paste into your document.

LOL (laugh out loud) if the teens can have their own language, why not the Quilters also :) after a while you get used to it and many times just put it in context with the topic, most of the time it will make since.
KWIM... :) took me 5 minutes to figure that out, "know what i mean" LOL and go on :)
Good Luck and Welcome

OBW is One Block Wonder, it's a technique/design.
if you type abbreviations into the search box you will find the topic with a large list of the common ones, every once in awhile a new one will pop up, then we all have to ask...what does that mean ;)
