I found a baby quilt I made for my oldest son, now 23. I traced pictures from a coloring book onto muslin and then embroidered them with bright colors. This quilt survived. My daughter's quilt was quite shredded from use.

so cute. good work. i just recently found an embroidered blanket i made for my son who is 42 now. it was just a blanket though, not blocks. so not a quilt.

That's when you could find good pictures to trace.

I still have the coloring books. I got a stack in 1985 from a little old lady (yes, for real!) who had tons of stuff saved over the years. She and her sister lived on monastery property their whole lives - spoke German only for years. The family did the washing for the monks and priests. The coloring books were from the 1950s, never been opened. It was an amazing place to visit!
