We have geodes in our area. Probably similar to yours. They are crystals inside limestone rock. They are protected in our state park so finding them is harder to do than it used to be. My mom has a fair number she shows in her flower beds. It is interesting to look at these things. We have occasionally found a fossil that has leaves frozen in time in the imprint. Fun to find those.

Your work is lovely! It reminds me of the book "Remarkable Creatures" by Tracy Chevalier. The setting is in Lyme Regis. I wonder if that is close to you?
