it does seem that ppl get interested in something, not working out all the how to's, both with the blocks/quilt, but also the 'how-to's' in their life.
Then next thing you know, they are unable. Being a bit embarrassed perhaps, they disappear?
Or sometimes they feel intimidated.
I can tell everybody reading this...I am not so very experienced, and work very slowly bc of health issues and anxiety, etc.
I work best with music and peace of mind!
I just have a real hankering to do this quilt and couldn't keep myself from joining in.
A real 'leap of faith' for me! (oh, you have NO idea!)
This is not a contest, not a race and we are all friends. We just want to support, drool  and have fun!
Anyone that was tempted, please don't be shy. You couldn't do any worse than the mousie.
But you will have to be patient a bit with my chatter. ;-)
ok, I mentioned earlier this morning that I would be posting PROGRESS pictures.
The one that looks like it's further along...before you come out of the woodwork to say it: I DON'T WANT TO DO IT THAT WAY! :)
I decided that for me, it would be better to hand embroider first, THEN add my applique pieces, so I don't have to "scrunch" in my embroidered hearts, etc.
Let's hope this works:

Mousie, it's beautiful! I love the mottled navy background, is that Moda Marbles?
Lesley, I started working on block 9 last night. Beth picked out all the colors, she traced them and turned the edges with the starch/freezer paper method while I cut squares of black background, batting and muslin. I'm hoping to get some of the sewing done tonight.
Mousie, are you putting the batting in now or after the whole top is finished? I think you're doing machine applique, right?

I really think once I get going on it, the next blocks are going to be much easier. Sometimes it's difficult to get going.

It's called Celestial. I like it ok, but the Henry Glass "Celestial", that I have for my DD...now that one is to die for!!!
This one is navy-ish, and Henry's is royal-ish!
I can't wait to work on hers.
I am not doing the fusible, but turned edge and will be putting the batting in as I go.
Your going to be sewing tonight. Let me know how it goes for you, ok?
I'm sew excited that your getting started. Say hi to Beth for me!

thanks so much, d. damsel!
It really boosts my spirits.
Not that i'm down. It's a nice color, although i do wonder if I should have gone just a tad lighter with my embroidery thread.
I suppose once the applique gets added it will all be ok.

Mousie - your block pics are beautiful! I love your colour background, and your choice of fabs. Now, everyone, now that Mousie has led the way, jump right in.
