Talk about an unnecessary item!

I just bought the Polar Notions boards - a pack of 50. I have most of my stash in clear plastic container (I know there is a downside to these too.) But I have several of the store boards with 4 or more yards on them as this much fabric doesn't lend itself well to being folded and I want to get the fabric off the store boards for 2 reasons: 1. the fear of the acid from the cardboard ruining my fabric. I know some of the fabric has been on the boards more than 5 years. 2. taking up less space. Since the first of the year I have been working feverishly to get all my stash in one room and organized so I know what I have. I think these boards will help me do that. It hurt to spend the money on them but hopefully they will get me to my goal a little easier.

they are not meant for permanent storage and the acid in them will harm your fabrics...
if you want to protect your investment, then do it the best you can.
I know a lady that uses a wide rotary ruler to wrap her fabric on, then places them on the shelf and pulls the ruler out, when she wants a certain fabric she uses a bread peel to lift the stack so she can pull it out!
